1862 06 Feb - Sheffield and Rotherham Independent - Magisterial Proceedings - ROBBERY AT WOODHOUSE. - Ellen Turner, of Woodhouse, was charged with stealing two flannel shirts and some stair carpeting, the property of Thomas Hulley, of Woodhouse... The shirts were stolen from a hedge where they had been put to dry, and the carpeting from a brewhouse. The prisoner was apprehended on Tuesday evening by Sergeant Smalley, and remanded until Friday.

(5 Lots) The property is distant about 5 miles from Sheffield, 5½ from Rotherham, 13 miles from Worksop, 10 miles from Chesterfield, only about three-quarters of a mile from the Woodhouse Junction on the Manchester, Sheffield, and Lincolnshire Railway, and a little more than 1 mile from the Woodhouse Mill Station on the Midland line. The House contains Dining and Drawing Rooms, each 6 yards by 6 yards; Butler’s Pantry, six Bed-Rooms, two Attics, capital Cellaring, and Dairies.
