and his birth date has been estimated from the birth of his eldest son John. he is not
shown with his wife on the 1841 census so it has been provisionally assumed that he
died before this date.

1820 27 Aug - son John baptised at St Chad's church Saddleworth: John Son of James and Maria
Hoolley Grasscroft Carter.
