2005 7 Mar - Information from Teresa Hulley:
I have some information to update your site, and I'm hoping for some help! Sadly my
parents both passed away last year, Ernest Anthony in September and Marjorie in
November. There are plenty more assorted births, deaths and divorces, but I'm not sure
how much info you want , you can let me know if it is of use to you. Marjorie is a problem to
us as she was adopted and we are trying to find out ANY information on this and failing
miserably. She was born in 1927 but we don't believe she was adopted until 1927 (sic) or
when she was 12ish. Or would this be because adoption records didn't begin until then
and this was the first time she could have a certificate? Her maiden name was Marjorie
Adna Cormack, (she swore Adna was correct, not Edna, but we do wonder if the registrar
made a mistake as it is such an unusual name.) We have an adoption cert but no birth cert
and although I know I must apply for one I'm not sure this would help. Her adoptive father
was J ames Hunter Cormack and her mothers name was Palmer. We think she was born
in Rugby although James was Scottish. If you can tell me where to look next I shall be
eternally grateful! We have no idea of her birth name.Family folklore has it that her father
was a soldier and mother a dancer but I don't know if this is true. i can find no mention of
her on the net, other than your site, but I'm a real novice at this and wonder if I'm missing
something really obvious. I look forward to hearing from you, yours, Teresa.
