2007 Jun - Note from Nick Shelley: James Hulley died before the above marriage date. John Toon, Wesleyan minister in Notts (0115 9284114) was contacted. John Wesley died in 1781 and many original Wesleyan converts were converted from Anglicanism. Unfortunately no marriage registers from the early 1800's or before seem to have survived in Nottinghamshire although there are circuit accounts for the late 18th century. The Guild Hall Street church cemetery used to be a Wesleyan cemetery and there is a small record for these burials. However the Hulleys are equally likely have an Anglican burial, whereupon Newark parish church would be the most likely location.
