No birth or baptism records exists for this person. An analysis of births in the Ashton under
Lyne district between 1780 and 1800 shows that of all the families producing children
between these dates, only one - Benjamin and Sarah Hulley - were probably his parents.
James and Ann of this parish had no more children after 1780.
James and Mary of Ridgehill Lanes had no more children after 1784.
Arthur and Grace of Luzley End had no more children after 1781.
Robert and Sarah of Hazlehurst had children from 1782 to 1796 including a Robert in 1794.
James and Bettty of this parish had children between 1784 and 1796 in 2 year cycles up
1790.
Benjamin and Sarah had children from 1786 to 1799 with a 22 month gap between the
baptism of daughter Betty on 24 Dec 1786 and that of son William on 26 Oct 1788. Robert's
birth has been provisionally placed in this gap.
Robert and Hannah of Hurst, James and Mally of Hopkinsand Hurst Brook, James and Sarah
of Mails, Hurst and Luzley, John and Esther of Luzley, Joseph and Martha of Ridgehill Lanes,
George and Hannah of Luzley and John and Mary of Ashton Town did not start having
