1603 - extract from "Historical Account of Dulinfield Chapel" page 29. (taken from Old Chapel Dukinfield CD) : What is certain, from his diary, is that, at some time prior to 1681, (Samuel) Angier lived in an old house at Dukinfield, which in 1603 had been in the occupation of Thomas Hooly. ........ Later he aquired an estate, perahsp the same property, in the township of Dukinfield, subsequently known as "Angier's tenement." (His father, from whom he inherited property, died on 30th Oct. 1678 aged 66.)

Soveraigne Lord James by the grace of God England France & Ireland kinge defender of the faithe et. And of Scotland the fyve & fortyhe 1611. I THOMAS HOWLEY of Dukinfield in the County of Chester Carrier beinge somewhat diseased in bodie yet of good and perfecte memorie praysed bee god, knoweinge & considering the mutable estate of all things under the same doe make this my last will and testament in manner & forme followeing: that is to say firstly and principally I commende my soule into the hands of Almightye god my creator trustinge by the merits of Jesus Christe his Sonne to obtain free remission of all my Sinnes: Itm I commend my bodie to the earths to bee buryed in the Pyshe Churche of Ashton under Lyne, or whereever it shall please god to appoynte a Christian Buriall: Itm for my worldlie goods, my will is that all funerall charges beinge paid the houle be divided equally into three pts, the first pte I reserve fot my selffe out of wch my mind is that my executors shall give to every one that I am Godfather unto 12d.
