1722/23 1 Jan - Admon granted to William Cotteral (husband of sister Sarah): LETTERS OF ADMINISTRATION FOR THE ESTATE OF JOHN HULLEY OF RIDGE HILL ASHTON UNDER LINE 1722 (Latin text in first paragraph) THE CONDITON of this Obligaton is such that if ye above Bounden WILLIAM COTTERAL Nephew & Administrator of all and singular the goods chells and credits of JOHN HULLEY of Asheton Undr Line Mason lately deceased doo make or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the goods chattells and credits of the said deceased which have or shall come to the hands possion or knowledge of him the said WILLIAM COTTERAL or into the hands or possession of any person or persons for him and the same soe make do or exhibit or cause to be exhibited into the Registry of ye Constistory Court at Chester at or before the fifth day of April next ensuing And the same goods chattells and credits of the said deceased at the time of his death which at any time after shall come to the hands or possession of the said WILLIAM COTTERAL or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him doe well and truly administer according to law And further doe make or cause to be made a true and just accompt of his sd Acton at or before ye Sixth day of January 1723 and all the rest and residue of the said goods chattells and credits which shall be found remaining upon the said Administrations accompt the same being first examined and allowed of by the Judge or Judges for the time being of the said Court shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons respectively as the said Judge or Judges, by his or their decree or sentence psuant to the true intent and meaning of a late Act of Parliament made in the two and twentieth and three and twentieth yeares of the raign of our Late Soveraigne Ld. 1719 18 Jun - Inventory made of all goods etc by Thos. Walker, Robert Hulley (son). Total value = £1.12s.7d.
Main benificiaries of will:
1. Sarah my daughter: the sume of one shillinge in full of her child's part.
2. Mary my daughter: the sume of one shillinge in full of her child's part.
It is my will & mind that the Cubboard in my house and bed Stead in the Parler be Left unsold and stand for Heire Loomes in the house while the house Continues in the name of Hulley.
3. Monumental Inscription in St Michael's church graveyard, Ashton under Lyne - Robert Hully died ye 9 day of Nov. 1731 Aged 73 years. Likewise the Body of Robert Son of James Hully. Buried March ye 3 1735 Aged 7 years. Also Jane his Daughter was buried May ye 21st 1744 Aged 18 years. Esther Wife of James Hulley Buried July 31st 1753. Also the body of the aforesaid James Hully of Luzley end who departed this life January 24 1763 in his 75 year. Also Elizabeth his daughter and Wife to Jonathan Cocker dep.
