1905 29 Sep - Manchester Guardian - A DERBYSHIRE LUNATIC'S DEATH An open verdict was returned at the inquest, concluded yesterday, on the body of Arthur Hulley, 40, labourer, an inmate at the Derbyshire Asylum Mickleover, who died from injuries caused by being kicked. Hulley told the doctor that he had been kicked, but would make no further statement. Another patient called Hodson told the doctor that he kicked Hulley in the laundry after a quarrel. Hodson's statement, however, was contradictory and confused, and as it was not corroborated, the coroner advised the jury to ignore it.
