This shows the descendants of James Holley/Hooley who was baptised at St Michael's church Macclesfield in 1710, son of Jonathan and Dorothy (nee Holme) of the One House, Rainow. Most members of this family lived in Macclesfield until the late 19th century although a few settled in Sutton from 1755 and remained there until 1900.

An additonal six persons have been added to the FT including 3 Hooleys, a Jackson and a Thomas Potts (1829-30). Ron Hooley has sent an update to his master list of Hooley/Hulley/Potts BMDs in the Macclesfield area which is most welcome and which will be a valuable source for future research.
September 2008
Ron Hooley of Australia assisted by Alan Hulley of Lancashire have researched the ancestors and descendants of Fanny Hooley born 1804 and her son Peter born 1827. Details are shown in their Notes. Ron has also transcribed all Hooley and Hulley entries from large sections of the St Michael's church Macclesfield parish registers and is currently working on Hooley and Hulley marriages in the St Peter's church Prestbury registers. Well done to Ron for such a large task and one that will be very useful to future Hooley and Hulley family historians.
