THIS PERSON IS A DESCENDANT OF THE ONE HOUSE FAMILY IN RAINOW, NEAR MACCLESFIELD.

1696 - born - see monumental inscription below. No birth or baptism record for this person has been found to date (March 2006). At his marriage in 1723 he was from Titherington and this location had other Hulley names associated with it before this date. For example John Hulley who was baptised in 1590 at Macclesfield lived at Tiderington (sic) in 1628 and his first 3 children John who died in 1622, Jasper baptised 1625 and John baptised 1630 were all born at Tidderington. Jasper went on to succeed his father as heir of The One House, Rainow estate.
1723 10 Sep - married at St Peter's church Prestbury: William Hooley Husb. & Hannah Gateley both of Titherington. #married St Michael's church Macclesfield.
1724 20 Sep - son John baptised at King Edward St Presbyterian Macclesfield, Cheshire: John ye Son of William Hooley of Tyderton was then baptised.
1726 18 Aug - son James baptised at King Edward St Presbyterian Macclesfield, Cheshire: James ye Son of William Hooley of Tidderington then baptised.

1754 13 May - SC 2/347/11 f10 Proclamation for Surrenders in Forest Halmote Court: George Henshall of Sperston Cheshire Yeoman (and others) surrendered a messuage cottage and tenement with a croft lying in Bollington - granted to Wm Hooley of the Fence within Hurdsfield his heires and assigns forever etc.

1757 3 Jan - grandson William baptised at King Street Presbyterian church: William the son of William Hooley Jnr. of Macclesfield was born Decembr 8th and baptized Janry 3d 1757.

1757 24 Apr - granddau Sarah baptised at King Street Presbyterian church: Sarah the daughter of Francis Hooley, son of William Hooley of the Fence was born April 1st & baptized April 24th 1757.
1759 25 Jun - listed on Proclamations for Surrenders on Macclesfield Forest Halmote court roll - TNA ref SC 2/347/14 f19. William Hooley of the Fence within Hurdsfield - and his wife Hannah -surrendered messuage etc in Bollington to Henry Bann. The same was surrendered by Henry Bann on the same day to Jasper Hulley of Rainow Gentl.

1777 4 Jun - buried at Christ Church Macclesfield - see monumental inscription below.
Christ Church Macclesfield Monumental Inscriptions Ref 57. WILLIAM HOOLEY of Hurdsfield died 4th June 1777 aged 81.Also HANNAH his wife died April 14th 1781 aged 78 years. Also EDWARD their son died Feb 11th 1790 aged 60 years. Also Christopher Forrest grandson-in-law (of) WILLIAM HOOLEY died 10th March 1819 (?) aged 52 years. Also seven of his children who died young. Also Mary wife of Christopher Forrest died Aug 21 1834 aged 62 years. Also Martha Forrest their dau. died July 11th 1826 aged 18 years. Also Sarah Clark dau. of the above died May 14th 1853 aged 57 years.

are holden and firmly bound unto the Right Reverend Father in God Edmund by Divine permission Lord Bishop of Chester in the Sum of Fifty Pounds of good and lawful Money of Great-Britain, to be paid unto the said Right Reverend Father, his lawful Attorney, Executors, Administrators or Assignes, To which payment well and truly to be made, we bind our selves and Each of us severally for and in the whole, our Heirs Executors and Administrators, and the Heirs Exe- cutors and Administrators of each of us firmly by these Presents, Sealed with our Seals, and dated the Twenty Sixth Day of September in the Sixth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George King of Great-Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, and in the Year of our Lord God, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Six
THE Condition of this Obligation is such; That if the above- bounden Samuel Hall & Mary Hooley now licenced to be married together be neither of Consanguinity or Affinity the one to the other, within the De- grees prohibited for Marriage: If also there be no Let or Impediment, by Reason of any Precontract, entered into, before the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand, Seven Hundred, and Fifty Four, or any other lawful Cause whatsoever, but that they may be lawfully married together, both by the Laws of GOD, and this Land: Moreover, If the Persons, whose Contract is required by Law in this behalf, be thereunto agreeing: And lastly If the said Marriage be done and solemnized in such Manner, as in the Licence to them grant- ed is limited: Then this Obligation to be void or else to remain in full Force and Vertue.
